Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia Limited is a state-owned chemical and fertiliser manufacturer based in Kafue. Established through a public industrial programme and operational since 1970, the company was originally developed to produce ammonium nitrate for mining explosives and fertiliser production, with later facilities supporting agricultural inputs and industrial chemicals. Its current role centres on fertiliser manufacture and distribution, while the wider asset base offers scope for recapitalisation, operational recovery and renewed support to both Zambia's agriculture and mining value chains.
