CHITAMBO AGRO PROCESSING LIMITED Chitambo, Central Province Agriculture & Forestry

A 120-tonne-per-day cassava milling plant in Chitambo that links local farmers to starch, meal and future food and feed value addition.

Chitambo Agro Processing Limited operates a 120 metric tonne per day cassava milling plant in Chitambo District, Central Province. Commissioned in September 2024, the plant was established as a vertical-integration solution for the growing cassava supply base in Chitambo and surrounding districts. It converts cassava into starch and meal and creates a dependable market for local farmers. The booklet identifies further potential in cassava flour, chips, animal-feed formulation, improved drying and bulking facilities, quality certification, product offtake and outgrower development. The opportunity therefore combines primary agriculture with industrial starch and food production, while offering room for technical, operational and market partnerships as the plant and farmer network develop.

EASTERN TROPICAL FRUITS LIMITED Katete, Eastern Province Agriculture & Forestry

A hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant in Katete designed to turn locally grown produce into juices, pulp, jams, sauces and other packaged foods.

Eastern Tropical Fruits Limited is a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing project in Katete District, Eastern Province. The plant is designed for year-round value addition from mangoes, guavas, oranges, bananas, tomatoes and groundnuts. Its planned product range includes juices, pulp, jams, concentrates, sauces, tin-packed foods and mineral water. The IDC booklet also identifies opportunities in product research and formulation, export-quality certification, aseptic packaging, dried-fruit production, outgrower schemes, zonal bulking centres and product offtake. A Chisamba hybrid processing plant designed to switch between tomato and fruit products throughout the year and reduce seasonal constraints.

Fig Tree Fruit Processing Plant is a hybrid tomato and fruit processing project in Chisamba District, Central Province. Its flexible production line is designed to switch between different crops instead of relying on a single fruit-specific process, allowing the business to operate across more than one harvest season. Tomato processing is the primary line, with planned products including tomato paste, sauce, chutney and puree. The same platform can support fruit juices, pulp and jams. The booklet identifies potential in product research, outgrower schemes, bulking centres, product offtake, equipment supply and technical partnerships, linking commercial agriculture in Chisamba with local food manufacturing and value addition.

INDENI PETROLEUM REFINERY LIMITED Ndola, Copperbelt Province Energy

An Ndola-based energy platform repositioning its refinery assets toward bulk petroleum products, LPG logistics, storage, distribution and retail infrastructure.

Indeni Energy Company Limited was established in 1973 and operated as a petroleum refinery until the change in operating policy described in the IDC booklet. The business is now positioned around the procurement, importation, export and distribution of finished petroleum products. Its identified development directions include LPG importation, storage and distribution, retail fuel stations, and loading and offloading gantries. The Ndola location, industrial history and connection to the national fuel-supply chain provide a base for logistics and market partnerships. The opportunity is centred on petroleum infrastructure, LPG facilities, distribution networks and operational expertise rather than on reinstating crude-oil refining.

INDUSTRIAL RESOURCES LIMITED Lusaka, Lusaka Province Mining

An IDC mining investment vehicle covering mineral exploration, production, beneficiation, refining and trading of gold, cobalt, copper and critical minerals.

Industrial Resources Limited is an IDC special-purpose vehicle created to support the exploration, development and commercialisation of selected mineral resources in Zambia. The investment concept covers the mining value chain from geological work and primary production through beneficiation, refining, value addition and mineral trading. The IDC booklet identifies gold, cobalt, copper and other critical minerals as areas of focus and describes potential partnerships for technical assessment, field expertise, project finance, product offtake and operational development. The model is intended to build a Zambian platform that can connect mineral resources to processing and markets while supporting job creation and broader value addition within the mining sector.

The facility is designed to handle pineapples, mangoes, guavas, oranges, bananas and tomatoes for year-round value addition. Kawambwa Tea Industries Limited is a tea-growing and processing company in Luapula Province. The IDC booklet describes an established tea estate, processing factories, nurseries and supporting plantation land, with production supplied as bulk tea and packaged tea products. Zambia's only inland water port on Lake Tanganyika, with a modernisation programme focused on berths, cargo handling, reefers and regional trade.

Mpulungu Harbour Corporation Limited operates Zambia's only inland water port on Lake Tanganyika in Northern Province. Built for cargo handling in 1930, the port provides a strategic connection for lake transport and cross-border trade. The IDC booklet frames the opportunity around improved operational efficiency, greater freight capacity and long-term financial sustainability. NITROGEN CHEMICALS OF ZAMBIA LIMITED Kafue, Lusaka Province Manufacturing

A Kafue fertiliser and chemicals manufacturer with a historic mining and agriculture role and potential to restore a broader product range.

Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia Limited is a state-owned chemicals and fertiliser manufacturer in Kafue. Established through a public industrial programme, the company was developed to produce ammonium nitrate for mining and fertiliser use, later adding NPK and sulphuric-acid facilities. Its programme covers the development, upgrade and management of facilities across priority tourism circuits, including eco-tourism lodges, high-end hotels, adventure tourism assets, cultural heritage sites and MICE infrastructure. The IDC booklet presents the corporation as a platform for public and private participation, with opportunities for hotel developers, operators, technical advisers, conservation partners and financiers.
