Bangweulu Power Company Limited is a renewable-energy company incorporated in Zambia in 2016. It operates the 54 MW Bangweulu solar photovoltaic plant in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone, one of the country's first large-scale grid-connected solar projects. The company generates and trades electricity for Zambia's national grid and forms part of IDC's renewable-energy investment platform, which supports diversification away from dependence on hydropower and creates a base for further private participation in power generation.
