Ngonye Power Company

Ngonye Power Company Limited is a renewable-energy company incorporated in 2016. It operates the 34 MW Ngonye solar photovoltaic project in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone, contributing solar-generated electricity to Zambia's power supply. Together with Bangweulu Power Company, Ngonye demonstrates IDC's use of public-private partnerships to add utility-scale renewable generation, diversify the national energy mix and improve resilience against the effects of drought on hydropower generation.
