MICC DECLARES SECOND DIVIDEND, AS IDC COMMENDS TEAMWORK AND SUSTAINED PERFORMANCE

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has commended Mulungushi International Conference Centre Limited (MICCL) for declaring its second successive dividend, describing the achievement as a clear reflection of teamwork, discipline and sustained hard work.
IDC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Cornwell Muleya, made the remarks during the official presentation of a dividend cheque amounting to ZMW 15,358,304.50 by MICCL to IDC.
Mr. Muleya said the dividend declaration demonstrates MICCL’s continued improvement in financial performance and highlights the Board and management’s commitment to value creation for shareholders and other key stakeholders.
He further noted that MICCL’s growth trajectory and future potential remain promising, expressing confidence that the company’s strategic plans particularly those aimed at expanding investments will come to fruition.
Mr. Muleya added that MICCL’s impact extends beyond conference services, contributing meaningfully to economic activity and improving the livelihoods of many Zambians.
Speaking at the same event, MICCL Board Chairperson, Ms. Leah Kooma, said the dividend payment underscores the company’s strong commitment to accountability, value creation and the delivery of sustainable returns to its shareholder, IDC.
Ms. Kooma further disclosed that the financial year ended 31 December 2024 recorded a robust performance despite operating in a highly competitive environment.
She revealed that MICCL achieved total revenue of ZMW 127.98 million, surpassing the budgeted ZMW 118.74 million by 7 percent, and representing a 24 percent growth compared to the previous financial year.
Meanwhile, MICCL General Manager, Mr. Dennis Moonga, expressed pride in the dedication of the management and staff, noting that the strong results affirm the team’s commitment to positioning MICCL as Zambia’s preferred destination for international conferences, meetings and high-level events.
