Kalene Hills Fruit Company Limited (KHFCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zambia Fruit Company, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant in Mwinilunga District, North-Western Province of Zambia.

As part of its growth strategy, the Company is looking to fill the following position:

SENIOR SALES AND MARKETING OFFICER

Role Overview:

The Senior Sales and Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to drive business growth and market share. The role involves managing sales operations, overseeing marketing campaigns, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Senior Sales and Marketing Officer will report to the Commercial Manager and will have a Sales and Marketing Officer reporting to them.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify target markets and customer segments.
  • Analyze market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  1. Sales Process Management:
  • Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Ensure the sales team meets or exceeds sales targets and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain sales pipelines and forecasts.
  1. Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Implement customer retention strategies to enhance loyalty.
  1. Sales Team Management:
  • Manage and mentor the sales team to ensure high performance.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge.
  • Set performance goals and monitor progress.
  1. Market Research:
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and customer needs.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on research findings.
  1. Reporting:
  • Prepare and present sales reports to senior management.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to optimize strategies.
  • Use data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.
  1. Marketing Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote products and services.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies and adjust as needed.
  1. Brand Management:
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels.
  • Develop and maintain the company’s brand image and reputation.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and social media content.
  1. Content Creation:
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Collaborate with designers and content creators to produce high-quality marketing materials.
  • Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
  1. Campaign Management:
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns to drive customer engagement and sales.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and vendors for campaign execution.
  1. Customer Insights:
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve products and services.
  • Use customer insights to inform marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Conduct surveys and focus groups to gather customer opinions.
  1. Budget Management:
  • Manage the marketing budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor marketing expenses and optimize spending.
  • Allocate budget for various marketing activities and track ROI.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
  • Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM).
  • Minimum five (5) years of work experience in a similar position.
