IDENTIFICATION SECTION

JOB TITLE: Senior Risk Officer

SUPERVISOR: Manager Risk

 

JOB PURPOSE

To provide support to risk owners through assessment of risks and execution of all operational risk management activities at Industrial Development Corporation and Subsidiary level. i.e. assisting the Manager Risk in ensuring the Systematic design, implementation, and monitoring of an effective Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Policies, and Risk Management Work plans
  1. To assist the Manager Risk in the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management process across IDC Group.
  2. To provide input in the development of the Annual Risk Management Workplan and ensure implementation.
Risk Management Process
  1. To assist departments or business units in identifying, analysing, evaluating and treatment of risks
  2. To investigate and assess potential risks before commencement and during the implementation of projects in liaison with the respective implementing project officers.
  3. To provide output from the assignments with regard to the nature and magnitude of significant risks and opportunities, exceptional risks exceeding acceptable risk level, timeframe of activities required, risk changes, etc.
Monitoring and Evaluation
  1. To assist the Manager in consolidating the IDC Risk Register as may be assigned.
  2. To undertake an evaluation of the IDC control environment and provide appropriate reports to the Manager Risk
Advisory
  1. To provide recommendations or options to mitigate the observed risks during the review of the execution of risk management activities by the risk owners.
Communication
  1. To provide reports to the Manager Risk on all assignments as may be assigned or undertaken.
Supervision
  1. To prudently manage the resources during the execution of the assignments.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Reports to: Manager Risk

 

ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  1. Professional Qualification:
    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • Degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Business Studies, Computer Science, Engineering, or professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia (ZICA).
    • Master’s degree in a business-related field
    • Certification in Risk Management or Certified Information System Audit (CISA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) will be added advantage
  2. Relevant Professional membership
    • Member of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)/ Information System Audit and Control Association, ZICA, EIZ, etc
  3. Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
    • 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  4. Skill Specifications:
    • Analytical, creativity and problem-solving skills
    • Communication skills
    • Report writing skills
