LEGAL COUNSEL
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Rendering well researched legal opinions and advice on a wide range of matters affecting the company
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Undertake litigation on behalf of the company from time to time
- Input into the preparation of legal memoranda, reports, analysis, and reviews
- Interpret and explain the legal implications of various contracts and documents
- Carry out a study and explain any changes in legislation and its implications on the company’s Business
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- To provide effective support to Senior Legal Counsel on all commercial transactions and conveyancing matters
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
- Assisting in the successful facilitation of scheduled meetings and to assist with group governance oversight.
- To adhere to departmental interventions on cost-saving when undertaking planned activities.
- Conducting Searches and filing documents at PACRA and Ministry of Lands including any other regulatory bodies
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognised institution
- LLM Degree will be an added advantage.
- Holder of a valid practising licence and advocate of the High Court
- Fully paid-up member of LAZ
- At least one (1) year post qualification work experience in a fast-paced environment
- Computer Literate.
