Kalene Hills Fruit Company Limited (KHFCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zambia Fruit Company, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant in Mwinilunga District, North-Western Province of Zambia.

As part of its growth strategy, the Company is looking to fill the following position

HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Role Overview:

The Human Resource and Administration Manager will be responsible for managing all human capital and administrative functions within the Company. The role involves developing and implementing HR policies, overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. The position also involves managing administrative services to support operational efficiency. This position reports to the General Manager.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. HR Strategy and Policy Development:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and policies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Ensure HR policies are up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies to reflect changes in the business environment and labor laws.
  1. Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
  • Develop job descriptions, post job advertisements, and conduct interviews.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and create recruitment plans.
  1. Employee Relations and Engagement:
  • Manage employee relations, including handling disciplinary procedures and grievance processes.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and drive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Implement employee recognition programs to boost morale and productivity.
  1. Performance Management:
  • Implement and oversee performance management systems to enhance productivity.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback to employees.
  • Develop performance improvement plans for underperforming employees.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Develop and coordinate staff training and development programs to build workforce capacity.
  • Identify training needs and create development plans for employees.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.

 

  1. Compensation and Benefits:
  • Manage compensation, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.
  • Conduct regular salary reviews and benchmark against industry standards.
  1. Compliance and Legal:
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations, workplace policies, and employee welfare initiatives.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  1. Administrative Management:
  • Maintain and oversee all administrative services, such as office management and support functions.
  • Ensure efficient and effective administrative operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement of office supplies and services.
  1. HR Reporting and Analytics:
  • Provide HR reports and workforce analytics to management for informed decision-making.
  • Use data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain HR metrics to track key performance indicators.
  1. Health and Safety:
  • Ensure a safe working environment by implementing health and safety policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Develop and oversee emergency response plans and procedures.
 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Psychology, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of work experience in management or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of Zambian labour laws and employment regulations.
