ndustrial Development Corporation (IDC) CEO Mr Perry Mapani has visited the construction site of the Figtree Fruit Processing Factory, a greenfield project of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The aim of his tour was to familiarize himself with the progress of the construction of the factory, which is located in Chisamba.
Once completed, the factory will process tomatoes and various other fruits into pastes, sauces, juices as well as dried fruits to promote value addition to raw materials. The factory will also ensure that fruits that go to waste year on year have market and are processed into finished products to create more wealth.
The IDC has two similar fruit processing factories in Mwinilunga and Katete.
