The Eastern Tropical Fruit (ETF) Company has officially commenced phase two of its recruitment process, marking a major step toward operationalising the long-anticipated fruit processing plant in Katete District. This development signals renewed momentum in transforming the region into a productive agro-industrial hub.
Speaking during the commencement of the recruitment exercise for strategic management and senior staff positions at the processing plant in Katete, ETF Board Chairperson Dr. Cassim Masi said the Board’s stakeholder engagements with traditional leaders, civic leaders and other stakeholders plus the recruitment exercise is a clear road map that reflects ETF’s unwavering commitment to turning the fruit processing project into a reality.
Dr. Masi disclosed that the recruitment of key personnel is a significant milestone in ensuring that the new plant becomes fully functional and impactful.
He reaffirmed ETF’s strategic journey, noting that the company’s vision aligns with IDC’s broader mandate to spearhead Zambia’s industrialisation, portfolio transformation and long-term wealth creation.
And speaking at the same event, IDC Acting Chief Human Capital Officer, Mr. Owen Kabanda, emphasised that the recruitment process currently underway is transparent, credible, and inclusive.
Mr. Kabanda noted that locals and other qualified Zambians were given priority, reflecting IDC’s commitment to empowering communities and ensuring that employment opportunities benefit citizens first.
ETF is currently conducting interviews for strategic management positions, a key step toward ensuring that the commissioning of the plant becomes a reality and that the project delivers long-term benefits to the local community and the nation.
