Today, IDC staff joined the nation in commemorating International Labour Day with a march from Lusaka Civic Centre to the Freedom Statue, where we were honoured to be addressed by Her Honour, Vice‑President Mrs. W.K. Mutale Nalumango.
Through its 36 subsidiaries, the IDC Group of Companies plays a pivotal role in Zambia’s economy and supports more than 20,000 jobs across key sectors including manufacturing, mining, agriculture, finance, and infrastructure.
Aligned with this year’s theme, “Securing Zambia’s Future of Work: Protecting Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All,” IDC mobilises capital, develops local industry, and strengthens supply chains to drive value creation that boosts GDP, expands export capacity, and fosters regional development.
Beyond direct employment, IDC’s investments build skills, support small and medium enterprises, and enhance pension security for workers, contributions that promote social stability and long‑term prosperity.
We celebrate the dedication, resilience, and innovation of our workforce and partner enterprises, whose efforts are central to securing Zambia’s future of work and sustainable economic growth.
