IDC HOSTS KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS FOR THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) today hosted students from the Kwame Nkrumah University Chapter of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management for an engaging and insightful Thought Leadership Session organised by the IDC Human Capital Division.
The delegation, comprising students pursuing Human Resource Management, Bachelor of Administration, and Bachelor of Administration with Entrepreneurship, visited IDC Head Office to gain a deeper understanding of the Corporation’s mandate and operations, and to appreciate the dynamics of the corporate environment.
The students were welcomed and addressed by IDC Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Raphael Chipoma, who encouraged them to embrace excellence, professionalism, and continuous learning as they prepare to transition into the world of work.
The session continued at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre, where IDC Acting Chief Human Capital Officer, Mr. Owen Kabanda, delivered a comprehensive presentation on IDC’s Strategic Plan and operations, while Head of Corporate Affairs, Ms. Namakau Mukelabai, spoke on managing personal and institutional brands. Students also benefited from a presentation focused on bridging the gap between academic life and corporate life, equipping them with practical insights for career success.
Beyond its annual Graduate Trainee Programme, which assimilates young graduates into investment analyst roles, IDC runs a deliberate Thought Leadership Programme aimed at mentoring tertiary students and preparing them for the demands of the workplace.
At IDC, we remain committed to investing not only in industries, but also in people — empowering young professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to contribute meaningfully to Zambia’s economic transformation.
