Today, women from the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) joined thousands of women from across the country and around the world to celebrate International Women’s Day.
This year’s commemoration was held under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls,” highlighting the importance of advancing equal rights, promoting justice, and taking deliberate action to create opportunities and improve the lives of women and girls everywhere.
In Lusaka, the celebrations began with a vibrant march-past from the University of Zambia, culminating in a colourful gathering at the Showgrounds, where formal activities took place.
The event was graced by President Hakainde Hichilema, who delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of empowering women and ensuring inclusive development.
IDC remains committed to promoting gender equality, supporting women’s participation in the economy, and creating opportunities that enable women and girls to thrive.
