PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA OPENS LUAPULA INVESTMENT EXPO

President Hakainde Hichilema today officially opened the Luapula Investment Expo in Mansa, held under the theme “Unlocking Luapula’s Investment Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth.”
The Expo aimed to showcase the province’s vast investment potential across key sectors and to attract both local and international investors to drive inclusive economic development.
During his tour of exhibition stands, the President visited the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) stand, where he emphasised the importance of value addition and industrial expansion as key drivers of economic transformation.
He expressed interest in scaling up operations at Mununshi Fruit Company and Kawambwa Tea Industries Limited, while also underscoring the need to identify sustainable markets for cassava products from the Chitambo Agro Processing Plant.
The President’s remarks reaffirm Government’s commitment to promoting value chains that enhance local production and create employment opportunities.
IDC’s participation in the Expo highlights its role in driving industrialisation and supporting strategic investments that contribute to sustainable economic growth, particularly in provinces such as Luapula with significant untapped potential.
