The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is taking part in the third Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka (ZAMII) 2026, which opened today under the theme ‘Transforming Africa’s Mining Landscape: Regional Value Chains, Shared Prosperity and Empowering Communities.’

President Hakainde Hichilema officially opened the event, calling upon mining companies and regulatory agencies to prioritise dialogue and strengthen local partnerships. He stressed that the benefits of mining must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Zambians.

The President also urged licence holders to develop their mining tenements, avoid speculative licence holding, and turn mineral wealth into jobs and better livelihoods. He encouraged investors to tell Government where bureaucracy is obstructing progress, so that barriers can be addressed together.

Earlier, our Chief Executive Officer Mr. Cornwell Muleya was a panellist at a CEOs’ Round Table on how Zambia can transform its mining landscape over the next 10 years in line with the Grow Zambia Agenda.

IDC is a proud sponsor of the Insaka and is exhibiting alongside the formal sessions, showcasing its contribution to the Grow Zambia targets of 10,000 MW of power and three million metric tonnes of copper.

Stay tuned for more updates here, and if you’re attending the Insaka this week, be sure to visit the IDC stand to learn more about what we do.
