Kawambwa Tea Industries

Kawambwa Tea Industries Limited is a tea-growing and agro-processing company based in Kawambwa District, Luapula Province. Originating as a government tea-growing pilot project in 1969, the company became a state-owned commercial enterprise in the 1970s and has continued to grow, process and package black tea. The IDC investment booklet records a plantation, an established processing operation and a modern factory expansion, with further potential in plantation growth, irrigation, outgrower participation, packaged tea and export supply to regional markets.
