The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has concluded its participation at the 60th Zambia International Trade Fair, where the IDC pavilion provided a platform for engagement, collaboration and the presentation of investment activity across its portfolio.
Held under the theme “Bridging Markets; Building the Future”, the trade fair brought together businesses, public institutions and stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore opportunities that can support Zambia’s industrialisation and sustainable economic growth.
A platform for portfolio engagement
Throughout the exhibition, visitors to the IDC pavilion engaged with representatives from portfolio companies operating across agriculture, insurance, infrastructure, telecommunications, tourism and agro-processing.
The participating companies included Kawambwa Tea Industries, ZSIC General Insurance, Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone, Zamcargo, Zamtel, Mulungushi International Conference Centre, Chitambo Agro Processing, Infratel Corporation and Mununshi Fruit Company.
The pavilion enabled the companies to present their products and services, respond to questions and demonstrate how the IDC portfolio contributes to productive capacity, employment and long-term value creation.
Leadership and investment dialogue
IDC Chief Executive Officer Mr Cornwell Muleya toured the exhibition and engaged with participating subsidiaries and stakeholders.
Chief Investments Officer Mr Mainga Mukando contributed to a Business Forum panel on investment opportunities, while Chief Finance Officer Mr Raphael Chipoma shared IDC’s work to bridge markets and support a stronger future for Zambia in line with the trade fair theme.
Recognition for excellence
IDC and its portfolio companies were recognised in three exhibition categories:
- 1st Place – Overall Best in Agriculture
- 2nd Place – Best Information Communication and Technology
- 2nd Place – Best Hospitality and Tourism
The awards reflect the preparation and collective effort of the IDC team and participating portfolio companies throughout the event.
