The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Chief Executive Officer Mr. Cornwell Muleya says ZAMTEL’s 4G and 5G expansion project is not only a technological upgrade, but a bold step forward in Zambia’s journey towards a digitally empowered future.
Speaking through a speech read on his behalf by the IDC Chief Finance Officer Mr. Raphael Chipoma, during the launch of the ZAMTEL 4G and 5G network upgrade held in Chalala today, Mr. Muleya said the expansion project signifies more than faster internet and represents an opportunity for customers and communities alike to access digital education, e-health services, e-commerce, and smart agricultural solutions.
He added that today’s launch is about inclusion and levelling the playing field, so that every Zambian regardless of geography, can participate meaningfully in the global digital economy.
“We are particularly proud that this rollout prioritizes previously underserved areas, ensuring that development is not only robust but also equitable,” Mr. Muleya said.
The deployment of modern infrastructure across provinces is a testament to Zamtel’s commitment towards bridging the digital divide in Zambia.
