IDC CEO Mr Cornwell Muleya has met with a delegation from 7YRDS Energy Zambia Limited, a subsidiary of Germany’s 7YRDS Energy GmbH, to explore potential partnerships in renewable energy investments.
The delegation from 7YRDS was accompanied by officials from the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA).
7YRDS Energy Zambia Limited is seeking to develop 100MW solar power plants in Zambia, with 50MW designated for Kafue district and another 50MW for Sesheke district.
IDC’s existing renewable energy ventures include co-ownership of two solar power plants located in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone (Bangweulu Power Company and Ngonye Power Company), generating a total of 88MW. With 7YRDS’s long expertise in green energy provision in Germany, the collaboration aims to enhance Zambia’s renewable energy sector, fostering both sustainability and economic growth.
