IDC Engages with IMF to Discuss Strategic Reforms in State-Owned Enterprises

On Wednesday 24th April, IDC CEO Mr. Cornwell Muleya held a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Zambia, Mercedes Vera Martin, and the IMF Resident Representative, Eric Lautier to discuss IDC’s current initiatives and strategic plans aimed at overcoming the operational challenges faced by the various State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) under its management.
During the meeting, Mr. Muleya highlighted the long-term strategy that IDC was implementing, which included a series of governance and operational reforms across its subsidiaries, designed to ensure that these entities fulfill the objectives for which they were established, primarily to create substantial value for the nation.
The discussions with the IMF representatives underscored IDC’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of its companies in contributing to Zambia’s economic development. The engagement also highlighted the supportive role of international partners like the IMF in Zambia’s broader economic reform efforts.
