EFFA is a top platform for dialogue and collaboration on energy. It brings together global industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to explore solutions to the continentโs energy challenges while unlocking new investment opportunities.
The Forum was officially opened by President Hakainde Hichilema, who also toured the exhibition stands. He was accompanied by Botswanaโs Minister of Minerals and Energy, Ms. Bogolo Kenewendo.
IDC is showcasing both its existing and pipeline projects in the energy sector, with a strong focus on diversifying Zambiaโs energy mix to help address the ongoing power deficit. Currently, IDC holds investments in two solar plants located in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone โ Bangweulu Power Company and Ngonye Power Company โ which together generate 88MWp.
In addition, IDC has advanced plans with its partner, Solarcentury, to develop a 67MWp solar plant in Chisamba, alongside several other pipeline projects aimed at strengthening Zambiaโs renewable energy landscape.
