IDC PARTICIPATES AT EFFA 2025

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is participating at the Energy Forum for Africa (EFFA) 2025, taking place from 10โ€“12 September at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre under the theme โ€œ๐˜๐˜ฏ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต ๐˜–๐˜ฑ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜Œ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜จ๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ ๐˜ก๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ช๐˜ข ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข.โ€
EFFA is a top platform for dialogue and collaboration on energy. It brings together global industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to explore solutions to the continentโ€™s energy challenges while unlocking new investment opportunities.
The Forum was officially opened by President Hakainde Hichilema, who also toured the exhibition stands. He was accompanied by Botswanaโ€™s Minister of Minerals and Energy, Ms. Bogolo Kenewendo.
IDC is showcasing both its existing and pipeline projects in the energy sector, with a strong focus on diversifying Zambiaโ€™s energy mix to help address the ongoing power deficit. Currently, IDC holds investments in two solar plants located in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone โ€” Bangweulu Power Company and Ngonye Power Company โ€” which together generate 88MWp.
In addition, IDC has advanced plans with its partner, Solarcentury, to develop a 67MWp solar plant in Chisamba, alongside several other pipeline projects aimed at strengthening Zambiaโ€™s renewable energy landscape.
