Earlier today, Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Chief Executive Officer Mr. Cornwell Muleya paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Rodney Sikumba, MP.
The meeting brought together senior government and IDC officials. Hon. Sikumba was accompanied by Tourism Permanent Secretary, Mr. Evans Muhanga, together with senior representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, the Zambia Tourism Agency, and the National Heritage Conservation Commission. On his part, Mr. Muleya was joined by IDC’s Chief Investments Officer, Mr. Mainga Mukando, Chief Portfolio Officer, Mr. Siakakaye Siameja and other senior management officials.
The discussions centred on strengthening collaboration between the IDC and the Ministry to unlock the full potential of Zambia’s tourism sector. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of strategic tourism programmes that can enhance the country’s competitiveness as a destination of choice while also creating jobs and contributing to national economic growth.
Mr. Muleya emphasized IDC’s commitment to investing in tourism-related ventures that align with the Ministry’s broader vision of positioning tourism as one of the key drivers of economic diversification.
